A few weeks back, a TV star being fired; well…suspended for an indefinite period…for
quoting the Bible in an interview. And actually, it wasn’t that he quoted the Bible, because most of those against him
admitted that we have freedom of speech in this country, and he was merely giving his opinion. The problem was that he quoted
a scripture that said homosexuality is a sin. And most of those who allow free speech didn’t agree with him OR the Bible
on that count. I should mention here that public outcry got the man reinstated, with an apology from the producers.
The reason this caused such a hoop-lah; this star and his program are leading the pack…the biggest
audience maybe of all time. But the reason I’m mentioning this ruckus is the fact that so many TV viewers offended for
this TV star quoting the Bible and speaking his mind!
I gave some thought as
to whether to mention this in one of my Conquest articles, because there’ll be strong disagreement among some of my
readers. But the thought also came to me that Jesus caused dissention, too. And we who believe the Bible must
not tear pages from it. There are too many scriptures in the Bible against it for me to name them all here.
The Old Testament put homosexuals to death (Leviticus 20:13), but Jesus brought love even for them, but noted that the practice
is a sin and it’s forbidden if a person is to make Heaven. Romans 1:26-27 says, "…for even their women did
change the natural use into that which is against nature. And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman,
burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly..."
Tho the TV question is settled, the question about men with men will always be debated. From those who say
they were born that way and blame their linage, or were never accepted by the opposite sex, and the other reasons they give
if they care to talk about it, it’s between them and God. He knows all. It appears that only He can help a person to
change from a sinful way. Pray for them. Pray with them. Love their souls.
