Ladies…we talk of peace among nations and honesty among politicians, but good
health is first among our values. Count the ads to Radio and TV about the ways to healthy living, and it seems that most
of them have to do with pills, dieting and exercise. But it all begins at birth.
And that’s where you ladies come in. A baby gets food and oxygen
through the placenta, which is attached to the baby's umbilical cord, and it doesn't know the difference between good
and bad. Alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, and even medicines the mother needs for herself, are passed on to the unborn child.
These all can figure in miscarriage, stillbirth, and the health of the baby even before it's born. It’s up to
Mom to take care of herself, even when others aren’t looking. Sneaking a smoke or a sip aren’t options.
You hear a lot about mental and emotional states, but
I must tell you that your spiritual state is the one that outweighs all the others, and even brings all into balance. It’s
true: Christ is the Answer. And it’s probably the last one you’ll admit to. Get your heart right with Christ,
and the way will become easier.
Lean on Him for strength to quit any habits that might affect the unborn…pray to Him to make the delivery of your baby
perfect. And above all things, you must obey the Lord in avoiding sex before marriage. There’s no way you can know
a partner’s activity before you, and that person’s genes can be the most harmful thing you’re trying to
guard against. More DNA is passed down through the father, and those bad habits we’ve warned you against are the same
for him, because his can also affect the unborn child.
Like it or not, the Bible should be your guide. A baby can be affected even by forefathers,
but the safest thing of all is a Christian marrying a Christian. Take it a step farther? A virgin marrying a virgin. My
advice is to begin now; to take things from today forward, praying for God’s help and guidance.
