I listened to a man tell his story of a life of
misery from pre-teen to college, and no one could deserve what he went through. A drunken father would beat him, and he finally
thought he had found a friend in drugs and drinking.
But the highs wouldn’t last. He found that high school football let him hit people and be complimented as a football
star. He was ready for college football when, while walking along a highway, a car hit him and left him broken in pieces.
And it was about this
time that a coach invited him to church. And it was there that he found what he had been searching for. He said a tremendous
load fell off his shoulders and as a Christian, a new life began at that moment.
I heard another person say the church of today is telling people how
to be happy, instead of telling them how to be free. And that made me wonder whether the Conquest articles I give to you
each week, are giving you what you need. Are any of them a help to you? The Lord gave me this Calling, and I want to be
sure that I give you what you need. Even a sentence or a thought that an article gives you, will make this honor He has given
me, be worth all the time I put into these two minute writings.
I wonder whether it would be asking too much for you to email a sentence to me, if there has
been any help or comfort in even one of them. Remember, I don’t accept donations, so you won’t be "put on
a list" that will be passed along to others who want something from you. My email address, which was an idea from one
of my daughters, not from a guy who loves to sing…and it’s on each website each week: firstname.lastname@example.org.
You don’t even have to sign your name, if you don’t wish to.
And if you forget everything I’ve ever written, try to keep at least one of the thoughts
in mind: No person is a success until he gives his heart to Christ, and no person is a failure until he fails to do that.
Thanks for finding my website. I’d like for
