Sheep need a leader, and for that reason, where sheep are slaughtered
for the meat market, a sheep called for obvious reasons you‘ll see in a moment, a "judas goat. This animal has
been trained to get among the crowded pen, then walk calmly up a ramp. The sheep get the idea and they follow…up the
ramp, down a passageway to a point where the judas goat goes through an opening which is immediately closed behind him, and
the sheep that followed have nowhere to go except into the slaughterhouse.
I only know what I’ve heard and read about teenage drug users, but it seems that many
of them get into drugs "because a friend got them to try it." A human judas goat who isn’t a friend at all,
because chances are great that he’s now a front for the dealer of illegal drugs who will make big money from those who
get hooked and then are forced to get money in whatever way, to finance their habit.
These kids are headed for any number of crimes because they’ve
fallen for the wiles of a false friend. He may convince them that they’ll be sharper for an upcoming tests, and will
play better varsity ball…whatever he can do to draw them past the point of no return.
And these dear once-innocent teens are headed for hell, with the cause
of it all in the lead. Poor revenge.
The Bible doesn’t mention drugs. Nor does it mention tobacco and alcohol. But it clearly tells us that our bodies
are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be taken care of. It’s obvious, the way these quickly become habit-forming
and lead to loss of health, job, family, friends, reputation, and even to spending the money that should be paying household
bills and other responsibilities, to finance the habit.
What a pity that anyone can see what these bad habits do to a person, yet they’ll become
slaves with they eyes wide-shut. Don’t give a second thought to anything that can finally control you. Give your life
to Christ; He’s all you need.
