Most Americans remember how ministers…Billy Graham, for example…were
invited to the White House by a long line of presidents.
I found myself wondering why that seemed to quit happening with the recent incumbent.
And then I realized that with the current president, maybe there
have been invitations, and visits by ministers, but then the thought hit me, that there’s a representative of Christianity
His vocabulary may be
more colorful that some are accustomed to, from time to time, but it has not included dirty words, nor taking the Lord’s
name in any way other than in reverence. Remember, a dozen Christians may have 12 ways of people expressing themselves verbally,
that they consider sinful, or at least distasteful. For example, I had a life-long Christian Sunday School teacher who felt
that words like "darn," and "gosh" to be wrong…that they were merely replacing curse words. May
the Lord forgive me for using my favorite; "humbug."
All that to say this: That we now have a president who is a friend to Christians, even telling the IRS
to quit picking on us…a friend to Israel, remembering that God will bless those who bless Israel, and will curse those
who curse Israel…and a friend to a Supreme Court that judges according to our Constitution, rather than politically.
And it’s ironic that the persons who show hate for him,
are the very ones he’s working long hours to help with their taxes, health insurance, jobs, and a strong nation. Pray
for him; pray with him.
