I read a story about a church having an Easter Sunrise Service, and at the time for the play to be put on that early morning, they realized that they hadn't made plans for the sound of the rooster crowing at the allotted time. They finally had to rely on a member of the choir, who would make the sound effect, although he would be in plain sight of the audience. The play director had been praying that the program would somehow affect the audience for the Lord, but had no idea how the Lord was going to answer.
When the play got to the place where Peter, who had denied knowing Christ three times at the trial, there was an awkward silence as the choir member hesitated. Then off in the distance, but heard by everyone... a rooster crowed. Not once, but three times. And the astounded cast went on with the play. The word soon was on the lips of everyone in town. The play had affected countless people, as had been prayed by the play director. The scripture Mark 15:72 came to mind, "And the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus said unto him, that before the cock crows twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, Peter wept."
Doesn't that show us, how the Lord is interested in us, no matter how large or how small is our need. And how forgiving He can be when we weaken and fail Him. The Bible talks of patience about 30 times, and although I didn't check it out, Jesus Christ must have been involved, because he has so much of it for us. Witness the many times His Chosen People, Israel, enjoyed His goodness, only to turn away, time after time.
Don't be guilty. Once you've given Him your heart, live for Him.
