God hates liars. And the rest of us don't care for them, either. But we must remember that all of us, can hate the lie, but must love the liar.
Proverbs 6:16-19 includes them in a list that says, "These six [things] doth the LORD hate: yea, seven [are] an abomination unto him." And included in the 19th verse, it says, A false witness that speaketh lies," And also in Proverbs 12:22, it says, "Lying lips [are] abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly [are] his delight."
And there are many places in the Bible that agree. Revelation Revelation 21:8 - "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." And this shows us that liars won't be the only ones in hell. Notices it includes unbelievers, among others.
And although those others on that list, are those who can harm us right here on earth; murderers, of course, but liars can harm us if we don’t learn early, that they can't be trusted, and believing them can give us no end of problems. And did you realize that even what we call "little white lies" can be problems. If a person says he'll give your important message to a certain one, then forgets his promise, can get you into trouble and more. The liar just can't be trusted, and that’s the way to lose friends.
And wasn't it Mark Twain, who wrote books like "Tom Sawyer" and others, who said, "Tell the truth and you won't have to remember what you said." Don’t let God hate your lie. Tell Him you love Him, then do it.
