If you read your Bible, you've seen the scripture that says, "Pray without ceasing," and you surely understand that it does not mean to skip eating and sleeping to spend every moment praying. Of course it means to have a prayerful attitude at all times, and to pray as Jesus taught His apostles (Matthew 6:9-13). In other words, serve your God at all times.
Well the same can be applied to the Bible where, for example, in Romans 13:8, it says to owe no man any thing. I heard a minister quote that and move on, leaving his congregation to believe they shouldn't borrow. How can a family own its own home if it doesn't borrow and pay back in payments it can afford. And the same applies to a sensible car that makes it possible to have a job miles away from home, but will also make it possible to repay the loan and feed his family.
The answer, of course, is to have the common sense to borrow in a way that you can repay and still have the necessities of a family. I’m sure I've mentioned to you in the past about the woman who was moaning that every month, something came up to keep them in trouble. She was asked whether they planned for the unexpected, and of course they had not, even though they knew the facts.
That's the key to a happy life. Your Bible is sensible too. Give your life to Him and He'll take care of you. But God doesn't protect the person who lives for the moment without preparing for the future. "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and He will direct your paths. (Prov. 3:5). billthorntonconquests.com
