Here's a true story about a high school wrestler who won a fifth place medal, but would have preferred none, because it meant he and his coaches had to wait until almost midnight to accept the award, before a three-hour drive home.
For some reason (face it; God was in charge) they took a different highway home, and came upon a car that had run off the road and was afire. The driver had escaped, but a passenger was trapped, and the wrestling coach was able by main strength, to pull the trapped man free, just minutes before the burning car exploded. He had literally pulled a man from flames and saved his life.
That man owed his very life to the one who rescued him. Don't you suppose he realized what had been done for him. And so why can't any person feel the same way for Jesus Christ's offer to save him or her from a burning hell. The big difference is that on that highway, the trapped man would have been out of his misery within a few more minutes, while Jesus is offering to help a person to escape an eternity...a never-ending eternity, instead of a few minutes of burning torture.
And all a sinner has to do, is to decide in his heart that he wants to accept Christ's offer, to save him. To tell the Lord that he is ready to give his life, like the man trapped in the car, to give the rest of his days to the one who wants to free him from a never-ending hell. Romans 10:9 is still the way to Heaven: "For if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." My unknown friend--please do it.
