The Cross and the Resurrection
As a Christian, which event is more important to each of us. I agree with those who say the death of Jesus Christ, and His Resurrection are each so necessary, that a choice between them can’t be made. Surely the death of the Lord loses its strength, without His now being alive. Unlike the past leaders of other "religions," who have long been dead, our Savior is alive now, and is with us every moment of our lives.
We believe our Bible, and 1st Corinthians 15:3-4 says, "Christ died for our sins…and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day, according to the scriptures." And He was seen of many, including 500 at one time, and He appeared afterward in a locked room where 11 of His apostles were hidden, in fear for their own lives. Luke 24:6-7 says, "He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again."
And of course there were many prophecies of all this, as long as 700 years before it came about. Isaiah, chapter 53, is considered to be the greatest chapter in the Bible, about the coming Lord.
If all this were not true, we'd have to class ourselves with those of other faiths, and to follow the writings of one long gone. Christ's many miracles from when He was with us, and in this present time, would not be here, but would be as missing as those of other past leaders like mohammad and confusious. I don't capitalize their names because they're long gone.
Believe and live for the Lord. Have your sins forgiven and the Promise of eternal Heaven can be yours.
