Why Sinners Say No
Countless persons, good and bad, go into eternity
every day, without asking God to forgive their past
and let them into Heaven. My thinking is that they
didn't bother with something they hear very little about.
I took an unofficial check of religious programs on TV
one day recently, and there was a word I watched for,
and it wasn't there. The word was "hell."
Mind you, it was just a normal day for me.
In retirement, except for my website of these
Conquest articles, I have time to watch several
religious programs, but I also check the news, as
much as I can stand, and I turn the TV off and read books.
And although daily, I watch sermons, I don't see anything
that would "scare" anyone into going to their knees to tell
the Lord that they've decided to live for Him. Terms like,
"living without God" won't scare anyone.
I saw expressions like tribulation period, and end times,
live right, and commitment to Christ. And sprinkles of
words like judgment, and martyrs, but nowhere did I see
anything about an eternal hell, or a bottomless pit, or that
we tell the Lord we want to live for Him to escape a
never-ending time of fire and brimstone, or we're lost.
One would think that ministers shy away from talking
about stories Jesus told, like the rich man and the beggar
Lazarus, who were allowed to talk across a space, and the
rich man, in hell, begged for a drop of water. It seems that
such accounts are just too terrible to talk about. But my
theory is to scare sinners in. To burn forever is almost too
much for me to think about, and I wouldn't put even Hitler
in it. But those who refuse to accept Christ, are asking for it.
Pray for those who still have a chance to choose Him.
