Help Is In Your Bible
Many years ago, I gave a pocket-size New Testament to a member
of our family "tribe”" who had not yet given his life to the Lord, and
I told him at the time, that when he had trouble, to look to his Bible.
Well, many more years went by, and somehow, the Testament got
back to me, and in going through my "stuff," I came upon it. I have
no idea how it made the circuit, but as a person will do a new book, I
strummed through the little testament…and there was the fifty dollar
bill I had put in it when I gave it to him! Obviously, he had never
touched the thing that probably waited through some of his problems.
Quite a story, but you and I have no doubt had problems that we tried
to handle on our own, before finally asking our Greatest Friend for help.
Christ is the answer, and He has it in the pages of the guide He's made
available to us… our Bible.
To quote from somewhere: "The Bible is unlike any other book in
the world. Nowhere else has God made himself known so clearly.
But God did not give us the Bible simply for informational purposes.
God gave us the Bible to transform us so that our lives more clearly
reflect his Son, Jesus Christ. But before we can understand how God
changes us through his Word, we need to look at why we need to be changed."
Keep your Bible handy. There may come a time when satan's helper
will raid your home and take your life when they find that book. Pray
that it never comes to our country, but there are signs that aren't promising.
If you haven't given your life to Jesus, do it while you're still able.
And pray for the Dawn.
